The Gas Machine

Yep that's what our (not so little anymore) bundle of fur is ~ well both of them are.

I discovered a fantastic inspiration blog a few days ago ~ Gutter Girlz Their ideas are just so different to anything I have seen before and I can definitely see myself looking out for their challenges in the future as they are so definitely me. This time it was

THE PROMPT:It's not all Roses

THE SONG:Rock Bottom by Eminem

PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE:PERFUME (visible or not it's not a big deal!!)

These fitted perfectly with my portable gas machine AKA Daisy the 11 month old labrador.

I used a Pink Paislee die cut sheet from the Spring Fling collection and hand cut the flowers from a different sheet in the same range. I've just noticed they look like horns and that isn't intentional oops. Journalling printed onto craft carstock. The Gas letters are from Studio Calico. I stapled some lace to the bottom and threaded the roses through the holes in the lace.

Grazing

Day 141 is today's post. I thought I would try a Graze box. It is a company who prepare healthy food goodies and send them to your home/place of work for you to graze on. Each box is supposed to be different and is tailored to your own tastes.

They sent me a voucher code to pass on to friends which enables you to get your first box free and second one half price. The code is 9BCJH9ZG and the website is http://www.graze.com/ if anybody fancies trying it. You have to sign up for it and provide card details but are free to cancel at any time so once you have had the freebie then you could cancel. The usual price is £2.99 which I think is quite reasonable and I will definitely be getting one a week now. One less magazine or bakery sandwich is worth it.

This is also a sneaky take on the HSMSHS prompt today which is TALL. The box lid has a picture of sunflowers which are TALL.

2 Mysteries Now

Clue 3 of the mystery sock I have been making. This clue was for the heel part. I love the way Yarnissima does her heels and she certainly didn't disappoint with this one. There is a design your own sock challenge coming up soon on Ravelry and I may well have a go at it incorporating a similar way of doing the heel flap.

Now for something completely different for me - a shawl. This is another mystery pattern with clues being released each saturday. I started it yesterday and this is my progress so far with clue 1. I still have another 39 rows to go on this clue.

A Scrapbook Layout And A New Knitting Project

This is a scrapbook layout done from an old picture of my eldest two kids The original was a very small one which came in a box from the in laws so I have had to scan it and blow it up a bit. It came out very blurry but I love the picture so have used it as it is.

Buttercream paint on the scalloped cardstock, a piece of ribbon down the side and a couple of Prima flowers layered with a button. The alpha stickers are K&Co.

Next we have the other pair of socks I have on the go at the moment. (OK then so we won't mention all the single socks I haven't managed to make a friend for shhhh!) It is this pattern and has the strangest cast on I have ever seen but I've done it as they said and it actually worked. This one is for the times like yesterday and today when I have finished the clue of the week for the mystery sock and have to wait until Friday for the next one. It's a nice simple one row pattern followed by a knit row which creates a chevron effect making it perfect for striping yarn like the one I am using.

And So Another Mystery Begins

This is a scrapbook layout I did on sunday evening of an old picture of my daughter having a dip in the north sea.

Next is the May Mystery sock by the fabulous Yarnissima over on Ravelry using the yarn I dyed a few days ago (see further down). This is clue one finished on one sock. The second one is in progress. The next clue is released on Friday so hopefully by the beginning of next week I should have the next stage completed and ready to show.

Colour Challenge

The Raspberry Suite Color Challenge for week 4 was to use these colours.

I think it is primarily a card challenge but as I don't make cards and I like to challenge myself I gave it a shot. Challenging myself these days is a good source of inspiration which seems to be lacking more often than not at the moment.

The paper is actually just one sheet of double sided Cosmo Cricket Ever After Something True which is more of an aqua than it has come out on the scan, the letters are Basic Grey chipboard and the flowers are inked primas.
